    Lab Level II

    The Southern California Chapter of ACI would like to announce the availability for the Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Level II Certification.  This certification is designed for personnel meeting to following requirements:At least one year of approved work experience or a combination of work experience and education, andCurrent ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Level I Certification.To become a Certified Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Level II the candidate must receive a passing grade on the ACI written examination, and successful completion of the ACI performance examination of the following ACI and ASTM Standards:

    ACI 214* -  Evaluation of Strength Test Results of Concrete

    ACI 211.1* -  Selecting Proportions for Concrete

    ASTM C192 - Making and Curing Concrete Test Specimens in the Laboratory [This Standard also requires the knowledge and ability to perform  ASTM C 143 (Slump), C 173 and C 231 (Air Content), C 138 (Unit Weight), and C 1064 (Temperature).]

    ASTM C470*  - Molds for Forming Concrete Test Cylinders Vertically

    ASTM C496*  - Splitting Tensile Strength of Cylindrical Concrete Specimens

    ASTM C42* - Obtaining and Testing Drilled Cores and Sawed Beams                

    *Denotes Written Exam ONLY – No performance exam on this standard

    In regards to requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, it is not the Sponsoring Group’s responsibility to judge whether or not the individual could do the job if certification is granted. The Sponsoring Group’s only concern is whether or not the individual’s request for accommodation can be provided for and is reasonable.     Please note this is not a training class and there is no examination at the Procedure Review meeting. Attendance to the Procedure Review meeting is MANDATORY, as study material will be handed out at this meeting.  Please sign up for ONE Procedure Review meeting (April, July or October).  The performance examinations will be held at each applicant's respective laboratory and, or lab of ACI’s choice and a schedule of all examinations (written and performance) will be determined during the Procedure Review meeting.  Availability for the class is on first come, first serve basis & pre-registration is mandatory.
